URBZ Capital, partnering with NW1 on behalf of its Industrial Outdoor Storage (IOS) fund, is pleased to announce the acquisition of a 15,223 sqm plot of land at Park15 in Nijmegen, simultaneously let on a long-term lease to Milence, the pan-European joint venture between Daimler Truck, the TRATON GROUP and the Volvo Group. Milence is building Europe’s largest public charging network for heavy-duty electric vehicles and has secured the site in connection with a potential future project in the area. Further details regarding the intended development and scale of the project will be announced as plans progress.
Milence currently operates four charging hubs in the Netherlands, with a fifth under construction. Across Europe, the network is expected to reach 50 operational hubs in nine countries by the end of 2026.
Park15 occupies a strategically important logistics node in the east of the Netherlands, in close proximity to the major transport corridors connecting the Randstad with Germany. Milence will use the location to expand its growing network of high-power charging hubs for long-haul electric trucking, supporting the ongoing decarbonization of European freight transport.
The transaction marks the second EV charging asset added to URBZ's Dutch IOS portfolio, in line with the fund's strategy to diversify its tenant base and capture the accelerating shift toward electrification within the logistics sector. URBZ believes EV charging infrastructure will play an increasingly central role in the future use of outdoor industrial area.
"We are very pleased with this addition to our IOS portfolio," said Isabelle Schols, Investment Director NL at URBZ Capital. "The long-term lease with Milence provides secure, income-generating exposure to a tenant at the forefront of the energy transition in road transport. This transaction reflects our strategic ambition to grow and diversify the fund, as well as our strong conviction that EV charging will become a key use case for outdoor storage across our markets."
URBZ Capital was commercially advised by Investables, with DLA Piper providing legal support throughout the transaction.
