The increasing pace of urbanization will lead to the integration of urban areas and the expansion of city limits. It imposes higher (sustainability) requirements on the infrastructure around cities. This will have a significant impact on the future of mobility, working life and societies. Urban areas with a higher population density combined with active trendsetters with a growing income are the fundamental ingredients for innovation and entrepreneurship.
We believe that green and socially conscious urban cities will attract these trendsetters. Urbanization rates in mature Western European countries are amongst the highest globally and are set to increase even further. The UN projects that approximately 78% of the European population will live in urban areas by 2030. Land shortages will only intensify, widening the mismatch between supply and demand.
